Being Universally Inclusive:
Promotion & Practice, with Dr. Sharon Hope Irwin, Lynn Cooper and Debra Mayer at the University of Winnipeg, July 10-14.
This one week institute was offered collaboratively by SpeciaLink, the University of Winnipeg and Community Living Manitoba. The week included training in both the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale, SpeciaLink’s Practices and Principles, how to be a mentor to others, a Powerful Parents Panel and culminated in an Inclusion Action-a face to face meeting with MP Stephen Fletcher about the needs of young children with disabilities and the important role played by high quality early learning programs. Participants came from urban, rural and First Nations programs in Manitoba, and we also welcomed students from northern BC and Alberta.
